Pemex: Shale Potential in Mexico May Range as Much as 460 TCF

According to Carlos Morales, Petroleos Mexicanos’ head of exploration, Mexico’s shale gas resources range from 150 trillion cubic feet to 460 trillion cubic feet

Morales, who is at a conference in Warsaw, said the country’s shale’s potential may prove to be seven times as large as the its conventional reserves. Mexico’s natural gas reserves stood at 17.3 trillion cubic at the end of 2010, according to BPs Statistical Review of World Energy.
