Brazil: Agency Announces 11th Oil and Gas Bidding Round
On January 24 2013 the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) published a draft of the preliminary tender package for the 11th oil and gas bidding round, in which 172 blocks will be offered. ANP is entitled to remove or add further blocks to the list at any stage, provided that due notice is given.
The preliminary tender package lists the rules and procedures that companies willing to participate in this bidding round must follow. Among other documents, a draft of the new concession agreement has also been made available. (1)
The schedule published by ANP regarding the bidding round is as follows:

Companies interested in participating in the bidding round must present all the documents required for qualification and pay the participation fees by March 26 2013. The data package will be made available to such companies only after proof of payment of the fees and acceptance of the expression of interest.
ANP has stated that the purpose of the public consultation procedure - and of the public hearing scheduled for February 19 2013 in Rio de Janeiro - is to gather additional information on the bidding round's rules and on the draft concession agreement.
